Annette - My first romance book I ever read was Judy Blume's Wifey when I was in high school with construction paper over the cover since it was not allowed in school. That was the start of my trip down the road to where I am now. First it was Danielle Steel and then I discovered historical romance thanks to Cassie Edwards and Johanna Lindsey. I always said I would not get into Paranormals but I picked up my first one by Kerrelyn Sparks and that is all she wrote, I was hooked on anything that went bump in the night.
I decided that since I love to read so much that I started writing reviews for two websites and fell in love with it, what better way to let fellow readers know what is out there to read and whether it is any good. Along the way I have been blessed with the friendship of some wonderful authors and thought doing a blog to represent some of those author's wonderful stories would be a great idea. So, here we are, Carla and I writing a blog and reviews for some of the authors we enjoy.
Carla - I've been an avid reader since I was 4 years old. I started reading adult Star Wars novels as a teenager, and I was hooked. Once I picked up my first Buffy the Vampire Slayer novel, I fell in love with vampires, and since then have devoured anything with the paranormal in it.
I work for a great bookstore in downtown Lapeer, MI called The Book Shelf. It's not part of any chain, and I think my favorite part of working there (besides being around books all day) is getting to know the customers, who are all great. It's wonderful being able to talk to people who love books as much as I do.
Franny - Franny Armstrong is a multi-published author of paranormal romance. A writer most of her life, she turned pro after a severe illness left her housebound and found, to her delight, a new beginning and brighter future as she gave free reign to the many characters in her creative consciousness. A psychic, she uses her 'supernatural' imagination to create contemporary stories about cops and private investigators who use their 'gifts' to solve crimes. Franny truly believes that love makes the world go around.
Moriah - I read a lot of the young adult genre in middle school, like Tamora Pierce. When I really started to read was in high school. One of the first series I found then was Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter by Laurell K. Hamilton. That is the character I grew up with. I branched out into other authors as well: Kim Harrison, Donna Gilespie, Brenda Joyce, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Gena Showalter, and Patricia Briggs just to name a few.
Then after that I pretty much read anything paranormal, urban fantasy, sci-fi, historical fiction and erotica. I can’t exactly pinpoint my first erotica because most of my authors shifted there anyway, but if I have to name two of my first they would probably be: Lora Leigh, and Shelly Laurenston. I am now a full time college student working to get a Wildlife Biology and a History degree. Now I read even more than I did in high school, I’m a bookaholic and absolutely love stories.
